SEVEN MINUTES LATER THE WOLVES EXTENDED THE LEAD WITH A BRILLIANT INDIVIDUAL GOAL FROM LEFT WINGER JOEY UBIDO, HE RECEIVED THE BALL JUST INSIDE HIS OWN HALF AND RACED DOWN HIS WING RIDING SEVERAL CHALLENGES, BEFORE CUTTING IN TO SHOOT ACROSS THE KEEPER TO ROUND OFF A GREAT EFFORT. IN THE SECOND HALF WOLVES CONTINUED TO PRESS BUT WHERE KEPT AT BAY BY SOME IMPRESSIVE KEEPING. HALTON GRANGE DID TRY TO PUSH FORWARD BUT OF THE FEW OCCASIONS THEY DID BREACH THE WOLVES MIDFIELD OF NOLAN, UBIDO AND RIGBY THEY CAME ACROSS THE WELL MAHSHALLED DEFENCE OF MICHAEL BROWN AND SHAUN DIGNALL. A VERY COMPETATIVE MATCH FINISHED 2-0 TO THE WOLVES , WHO RECORDED THEIR SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE CLEAN SHEET, THE MAN OF THE MATCH WAS AWARDED TO THE SKIPPER JOE NOLAN.

U10S Versus HRBL
HRBL where the hosts for the visit of the Wolves today in Runcorn. A tight first 5 mins saw the Wolves team looking for the first goal but were thwarted by a strong HRBL defence. However a good run on 12mins by Wolves left wing Reece Sinclair presented a great opprtunity for striker Kieron Conroy who clinically finished to make it 1-0. The remainder of the half saw constant Wolves pressure but they could not break down the strong HRBL defence.
Half Time HRBL 0 Wolves JFC 1
The second half saw Wolves on the attack once more, after 2 mins Wolves JFC captain Joe Nolan collected the ball in central midfield and advanced towards the goal unchallenged he then struck a great shot from 20yds that left the HRBL keeper no chance as it nestled in the bottom left hand corner to make it 2-0 to the Wolves.
HRBL replied with a good attack and there striker was only thwarted by a great last ditch tackle from there defender Michael Brown. Wolves again showed there attacking flair and a great run this time by there right winger James Rigby and a good cross allowed clinical striker Kieron Conroy to grab his second of the match.
Final score HRBL 0 Wolves JFC 3....MOM Wolves captain Joe Nolan.

U10S Versus Pex Hill
Wolves started the game and found themselves under early pressure from a lively pex hill outfit. The first 10 mins saw the two midfields trying to stamp there own authority on the game in difficult conditions. Wolves pressed the pex hill defence and some fine keeping kept the wolves attack at bay.
HALF TIME 0-0
The second half saw the home team immediately on the attack and after only 3 mins a good pass by Wolves right wing James Rigby found Joe Nolan whose stinging shot could not be held by the keeper and striker Kieron Conroy was the first to react to make it 1-0. Wolves quickly followed it up with there second of the game for Wolves JFC and it was there quality striker Kieron Conroy who scored again. Constant Wolves pressure saw them score there third with a cool finish from skipper Joe Nolan. Wolves made a few changes and Pex Hill attacked strongly and where unfortunate not to score on a couple of occassions, however with only minutes to go Wolves sub Jay Dorrian latched on to a good ball through the middle and his shot powered into the top left corner giving the keeper no chance. Man of the match: James Rigby

Wolves F.C. 10 v Brookvale United. 1.
22/11/03

With the wolves having to play catch up again being two games behind, a win was the only result possible if we where still to continue to challenge for the league.
We started very strong keeping possession and leading at half time 6-1 with three long-range goals in particular that would impress in any league from Ben Hurley, Jack Stead and Sean Welch. The only downside to the impressive half was conceding a daft goal, a poor back pass and a poor kick from the keeper hit one of our player and fell kindly for the opposition for an easy finish. The second half was an even better performance as we kept the ball almost for the full half and pressed the brookvale defence. Chris Travis and rob Barth were very strong in the centre of defence making keeper Si Palmer virtually a spectator. Ben hurly and Andy Cullen gave us good width to supply the strikers and a very supportive midfield of Jack Stead and Sean Welch. Goals came from Ben Hurley (3), Alex worsley (3), Ben Dignall, Jack Stead, Sean Welch and Paddy Cullen. Man of the match award could have gone to a few players today but was awarded to Jack Stead for his shear determination.

Wolves attacked immediately from the kick off and left winger Joey Ubido was denied by a fine save from the Norton keeper. Wolves continued to attack and were denied on each occasion by some impressive keeping, however on 15 mins the breakthrough came from a corner which was crossed in by Joe Nolan flicked on by James Rigby and nodded in by Kieron Conroy. HALF TIME: WOLVES JFC 1 NORTON KNIGHTS 0
The second half started like the first one with constant Wolves pressure, but again some fine defensive work, and keeping, kept Wolves attack at bay. On 28mins however a great run by Joey Ubido saw Kieron Conroy score his second headed goal which was just reward for the Wolves attacking display. Wolves made it 3-0 on 36 mins with a classic counter attack, a fine ball through by Connor Maher found Jay Dorrian in space who finished clinically. This was Wolves JFC 10th clean sheet in a row which by any standards is a fantastic achievement..
FULL TIME: WOLVES JFC 3 NORTON KNIGHTS 0

Heath Park took the lead on 10mins after a defensive mix up saw the ball sneak into the Wolves goal. Wolves reply came soon after when a shot from Joey Ubido could not be held by the Heath Park keeper to make it 1-1. Wolves continued to attack and were only denied by some good saves. Wolves James Rigby made it 2-1 just before half time after a good ball through was met and finished by the right winger.
The second half saw Heath Park searching for the equaliser but the Wolves defence held firm and some good positonal play and timely interceptions by Shaun Dignall kept them at bay. On 30 mins Wolves striker Jay Dorrian received the ball and advanced on the keeper before finishing powefully in the top right corner. Wolves added a fourth on 37 mins with a brilliant individual goal from Jay Dorrian, who with his back to goal and under pressue he turned and lobbed the keeper from 12yds to make it 4-1 to the Wolves.

WOLVES F.C. UNDER 13’S V KNOWLSLEY SOUTH UNDER14’S

Due to getting a bye in the cup draw we found ourselves with a free week so a friendly game was organized against Knowlsley an under 14’s team who play in the Anfeild league and sre a very good side. Having beat us 6-3 in the close season the team had a point to prove and started the game very well playing against a strong wind. We rode our luck in the first half with the wind playing a big part but our two centre backs Chris Travis and Sean Welch where outstanding, Andy Cullen and Jonathon Roberts both playing on the right relieve the pressure at every opportunity. We got to half time 0-0; we used the wind to our advantage in the second half a won an early corner. Ben Hurley delivered a good cross only for a knowlsley defender to handle in the area, the ref had no hesitation in awarding a penalty which keeper Simon palmer calmly converted to give us the lead. We continued to press with the wind behind us and were driven on by our midfield pair of jack stead and matty swan who both closed down and never gave the opposition ant time. We double the lead midway through the half when Andy Cullen crossed the ball for peter bennet to shot only to hit the bar, Cullen followed up his cross and tucked away the rebound. We could have made it three when David o’toole hit the post from distance and from the rebound Ben Hurley hit the same post. This was the best we have played all season it’s just a shame it was only a friendly and nothing was at stake. There where many candidates for man of the match but it went to jack stead a very consistent performer all season but today he seemed to play a level higher.

Wolves U13s –v- Hale
This Was The Top Of The Table Clash With Wolves Playing The Better Football Hale Took The Lead With A Surging Run Down The Wing And Pulling The Ball Inside To Score In An Open Net.

Half Time

The Second Half Had More Misery In Store For Wolves Hale Pulled 2 Goals Ahead Just Before The End. But Wolves Didn’t Give Up Without A Fight Scoring A Brilliant Free Kick By Ben Hurley. Unfortunately The Wolves Couldn’t Pull The Equalizer Back Because Of Superb Defending By Hale.

Wolves F.C. 7 – Pex Hill 0
03/01/04
Wolves started the game with an instant attack with debutant Mark Dundon just putting ta shot over in the first minute, he didn’t have to want much longer to score his first when Jack Stead threaded a ball through for him to calmly finish, he added a further two for a first half hat-trick and with Ben Dignall scoring before the break to give the Wolves a 4-0 half time lead. The second half was much the same with the wolves playing some great football and kept the ball for long spells of the half. Further goals from Ben Hurley, Alex Worsley a fantastic free kick from Jack Stead gave the Wolves a 7-0 result. Mark Dundon was named man of the match for a great debut and was unlucky not to add to his first half hat trick.

Woodside Flyers 2 – Wolves F.C. 8
10/01/04
G Stapleton cup (quarter final)

The game started quite tight for the first five or so minutes but a break down the right from Mark Dundon opened up the Woodside defence he cut the ball back for Alex Worsley to open the scoring. Woodside responded when confusion in defence let the in a looping shot beat Si Palmer in goal for Woodside to equalize, Not long after the Woodside defence was exposed again this time down the left by Ben Hurley, he crossed for Alex Worsley to win the ball and repaid the favour by setting up Mark Dundon to make it 2-1, Andy Cullen added a third but again a lapse in defence let in Woodside for a second. Again immediately after a through ball from Jack Stead put in Mark Dundon to give the wolves a 4-2 half time lead. The second half was an outstanding performance as the wolves created chance after chance with only some brave keeping from the Woodside keeper keeping the score down. Further goals from ben Hurley; Alex Worsley a penalty from keeper Si Palmer a hat-trick completion from Mark Dundon gave us an 8-2 victory and passage to the next round. Man of the match went to Alex Worsley, but performances from Rob Barth who was out standing in defence, Jack Stead and Shaun Welch in midfield and Mark Dundon up front could have all earned the award.

Halton Grange were the hosts to Wolves in what was the current league leaders and the second placed sides in the Best Sports league. A good competetive first half saw both sides creating chances but both defences stood firm. On 15mins Halton Grange broke away down the left wing and there forward was only denied by a great covering tackle by Joe Nolan. In the dying seconds of the first half Wolves were awarded a free kick which was taken by Joe Nolan, it went through the crowded penalty box and nestled in the bottom left hand corner to put Wolves 1-0 up.
The second half saw the upbeat Wolves on the attack and some brilliant saves by the Halton Grange keeper denied Wolves wingers Joey Ubido and Keiron Conroy. 0n 30 mins however Wolves got a second after a great counter attack down the left wing Joey Ubido took him past 2 Grange defenders before cooly finishing past the advancing keeper to put the Wolves 2-0 up. Joe Nolan brought the best out of the grange keeper again with a quickly taken free kick that caught everyone off guard except the alert keeper who turned it round his post. Wolves right wing Connor Maher picked out Joey Ubido on 38 mins who finished with accuracy and power to get his second of the game.

A very exiting match separated by one goal which came from a Joe Holian free kick which was put into the penalty area, and Evan Morris superbly drove it into the net at the back post. The second half the wolves came under more pressure, but held on for a great result after a great defensive display from James Baker and a good save from man of the match from Conner McGinty.
